Spring 2027: NYC Residency

The NYC Residency (Spring/Summer 2027) is intended to support New York City artists with the time, space, mentorship, and peer community to develop a new project or idea around the theme of AGENCY. It is well suited for projects with a clear direction already in place, where dedicated studio time, regular critique, and production support would meaningfully advance the project towards completion.

Six NYC-based artists will be selected for the 12-week residency program that will include:

• $5,000 stipend
• Weekly residency programming to support project development
• Mentorship with Eyebeam alumni and visiting professionals
• Technical consultation
• A fertile context for critical thinking and making

Residents will be required to commit a minimum of 8 hours per week in person at Eyebeam, in addition to their own independent time developing the project.

Selected residents will participate in the following activities:

• Weekly Cohort Sessions: Take part in weekly cohort sessions at Eyebeam
• Project Development: Continue independent development of projects over the course of the 12 week residency period
• Work-in-Progress: Share WIP with peers and guest critics and engage in peer-to-peer mentorship with fellow residents
• Open Studio: Participate in a public open studio midway through the residency
• Process Presentation: Share research and process at a culminating showcase at the residency’s conclusion
• Publication Contribution: Develop text, imagery, or other material to contribute to an end-of-year publication

• Applicants must live in New York City, within its five boroughs, and be able to work on site at Eyebeam at least one day a week for the full residency term.
• Applicants must apply as individuals; collectives and collaborative teams are not eligible for this cycle.
• Applicants may not be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program.
• Applicants may not be participating in or committed to another residency during the residency term.

Applications must be submitted by Sunday, November 15, 2026, 11:59 PM Eastern, and no late applications will be accepted.
