Rob O'Neill is a director, writer, and animator, born in Brooklyn and based in Los Angeles.

Rob is the director of the award winning animated short film Follow Your Heart and a series of music videos/short films with music producer Starcadian. He recently wrote and directed the live action horror/western short film, The Ballad of John St. George. He is currently a Production Executive at DreamWorks Animation with credits on Shrek 2, Madagascar, Turbo, The Croods, Peabody and Mr. Sherman, The Penguins of Madagascar, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Abominable, Trolls: World Tour, The Bad Guys, and Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. He has directed projects for clients such as Kidrobot and Google, and exhibited films at film festivals such as SXSW and Beyond Fest. Previous professional experience includes: Researcher in Cultural Resources in the Division of Anthropology at the American Museum of Natural History; Character and Research Technical Director at Charlex/Launch; Studio Technical Director at Eyebeam; Founder/Director of Kickstand Animation; and Director of the Digital Arts Research Laboratory at Pratt Institute. He has a BA from Brooklyn College in Anthropology and Archaeology and a MFA in Digital Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design.
